The Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall is a state of the art expansion of the larger Las Vegas Convention Center campus. It opened in 2021 and is known for its modern design and massive size, making it a premier destination for major trade shows and conventions.
The West Hall is a significant addition to the complex, built as part of a $980 million expansion.
Total Expansion Size: 1.4 million square feet (130,000 square meters).
Exhibit Space: 600,000 square feet of dedicated exhibit space.
Meeting Space: 150,000 square feet of meeting room space.
Unobstructed Area: The main exhibit hall is architecturally designed with only two rows of columns, creating a colossal 385,000 square feet of unobstructed floor space, which is highly prized for large scale events.
Lobby and Prefunction: It features a grand lobby and registration area spanning over 260,000 square feet, which efficiently links new and existing halls.
Outdoor Space: It includes 600,000 square feet of outdoor exhibit space.
Architectural Design: The building is recognizable by its undulating, ribbon like roof structure that spans the entire new building. This curved silhouette is inspired by and echoes the nearby Spring Mountains range. The main entrance features a spectacular 36 meter high, arched vault of glass and steel known as the Grand Lobby, which is flooded with natural light.
The West Hall and the greater Convention Center campus offer a full spectrum of services to support large events.
Sustainability: The design achieved a three globes rating for Green Globes, indicating a strong focus on sustainable design solutions.
Accessibility: The facility is a GBAC STAR Accredited Facility and is committed to accessibility. Features include wheelchair accessible entrances, restrooms, seating, and designated parking spaces for disabled vehicles. Additional services such as Auxiliary Aids, Assistive Listening Systems, and TDDs (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) are also provided.
Food and Beverage: The campus features full service kitchen facilities, two restaurants with seating for over 1,300 people, and 18 concession stands. Food and beverage services, including onsite catering, are exclusively provided by Sodexo. There are also specific vendors like a Starbucks cafe.
Business Services: FedEx Office provides comprehensive services on site, including printing, shipping, and material preordering. They also handle requests for wheelchair and scooter rentals. Cox Business is the exclusive provider of telecommunications services, including telephone, internet, and wireless network services.
Parking: Paid parking is available at the facility.
A key feature for navigating the massive campus is the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop.
Vegas Loop: An underground transportation system by The Boring Company runs underneath the complex. It uses Tesla vehicles to shuttle passengers between three stations at West Hall, Central Hall, and South Hall. This system is designed to turn what would be a long walk into a rapid, one minute 40 second ride.
Monorail: The Las Vegas Monorail has a station at the Convention Center, providing a connection to the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding hotels.
